Washington Gas has switched to a new insurance company. Within the next 30 to 60 days, the company will start to check that everyone’s license is up to date.

It is vital that you make sure that your license is clear and in good standing from any violations including suspensions, DUI’s, DWI’s, child support, and any other parking or traffic violations (this applies to all members in Maryland).

If the company finds any violations on your license you will be put on a “NOT ABLE TO INSURE” list for up to 3-5 yrs depending on violation. You should not be driving a company vehicle with a suspended license under any circumstances. If you are, you can face consequences. If you know you are driving with any violations or have a suspended license it is your responsibility to contact the union and your supervisor of your situation, and if you are driving with a suspended license, you should stop driving the company’s vehicle IMMEDIATELY.

The union and E-Board members cannot stress the importance of this situation enough. We all have to do our part to make sure we are following the policies and procedures of Washington Gas to ensure we can retain our positions in the company.
