After today's overwhelming strike authorization vote, your Bargaining Committee made progress in negotiations. We are working hard to try to reach an agreement that addresses members’ needs on our priority issues, including pay and healthcare.
We are waiting for management to send a new written offer on Friday. We will keep you updated every step of the way. Stay informed. Stay involved. Stay united.
We came very close to reaching an agreement on a new contract today. But management made that impossible by demanding that we choose between a lowball wage offer or healthcare cuts. As a result, we will be proceeding with a strike authorization vote on Wednesday and Thursday.
This Wednesday May 26th and Thursday, May 27th, Local 96 members will take a Strike Authorization Vote at each station.
Report to your station for voting at least 30 minutes before your start time.
*Ballot boxes will close on Thursday at 7:30AM sharp for counting, there will be no late voting.
BARGAINING UPDATE & RALLY ALERT📣
Join Local 96 members at your stations at 6 a.m. on Thursday to Blow the Whistle on Corporate Greed and demand a fair contract.
Hundreds of Members rallied on Thursday to tell Washington Gas that we're united for a fair contract. Management definitely took notice, but they are still not getting the message. Management continues to hold on to their demands to gut our job security language and No Layoffs protections.
