COVID-19 is the most serious health and safety threat we have ever faced.

Local 96 Teamsters are on the frontlines every day serving our communities at risk to ourselves and our families.

Teamsters Local 96 is at the negotiating table to address members’ need in this crisis.

We have told management that Washington Gas workers need and deserve:

• Health & Safety Protections, including compliance with OSHA regulations and PPE to protect us and the public.
• Additional Paid Leave for workers sick or quarantined because of COVID-19
• Hazard Pay to compensate us for our dangerous work

Other Teamster and union employers have already agreed to these protections.

Local 96 members are united to secure these basic protections at Washington Gas.

Contract Negotiations

Management at Washington Gas has also approached the Executive Board about negotiating an extension to our contract past May 31 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have made it clear to management that members’ concerns about these urgent COVID-19 related issues need to be addressed first.

We will continue to negotiate in good faith on all of these issues.
